Jaisalmer is nestled in the heart of the Thar desert. It is also known as the “Golden city”, situated in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. This world heritage site is crowned with an ancient palace and the architect of this town is made of golden sculpted sandstone.

      This beautiful golden city is adorned with lots of mesmerising things.  The first and the most excellent sight is Jaisalmer fort, which is truly magnificent. This fort is a major tourist attraction and catch the attention of history lovers and photographers. The city is constitutes of several jain temples, havelis, lakes, castles and much more. 

                  Houses and temples are built of well-sculpted sandstone. It is widely visited tourist place which offers the best Rajasthani culture and cuisine. Jaisalmer fort, Maharajas palace, Vyas chhatari, Patwon ki haveli are the places one can easily explore in a day. A trip to this exciting place will give you the memories of a lifetime.


Local Market:  

                           If shopping is something you really enjoy, then you must explore local bazaars of Jailasmer. Sadar bazaar, Pansari bazaar, Manak chowk, Seema gram are the bazaars which are heaven for shopping lovers . You can easily get captious amount of stuff here as per your choice. The shops here sells wide array of products like shawls, wood work, mirror embroidery, dupattas, shoes, chappals, jewellery, antique items, bags, purses, paintings, carpets, leather products and much more. 

                         Jaisalmer is also famous for mirror work like wall hangings , banjara bags, quilts, bed covers, cushion covers and is a must buy for everyone. If you looking for traditional Rajasthani objects, head to Pansari bazaar, where one can buy variety of handicrafts, traditional clothing  and  puppets.


Food:


           
Food in Jaisalmer is quite tantalising. Be it local food or the other, it will surely satisfy your soul with its taste. Lots of cafes and restaurants have been setup here for tourists and locals. Jaisalmer is home to some delicious dishes. These dishes are made of special spices that are quite unique to everyone. The street of Jaisalmer serve various delicacies.

        Gatte ki sabzi, mutton saag, pyaaz kachori, makhania lassi, ghotua laddoos, chat and lots of verities of deserts. Try these excellent dishes that will surely tantalise your taste buds. These dishes attract many tourists every year, which are quite popular in Jaisalmer.


Desert Safari :



                    Thar desert in Jaisalmer is an ideal place for desert safari in India. It is once in a life time experience. Ride a camel through dunes, after a jeep ride into the desert. Once you reach to your campsite, have some snacks and a cup of tea while watching the sunset over the dunes. One can also relish authentic dinner cooked over an open fire. 



Bonfire and music also add more charm to this safari. Sleeping under the sky and watching millions of stars is something unforgettable experience. Your visit to Jaisalmer is incomplete without experiencing desert safari.
